* Jerome Leach has had three careers: trial lawyer, law professor, and singer/actor. As a “Philadelphia lawyer” he tried civil cases for 20 years, then turned to teaching trial skills, public speaking, and evidence in California. Throughout, he has appeared in productions at the Manhattan Theater Club, in leading roles for Cornell Summer Theater and the Savoy Club of Philadelphia at the Academy of Music, and in community theaters in the greater Philadelphia area and Sacramento. With the Mendelssohn Club of Philadelphia and the Philadelphia Orchestra he has sung under the batons of Riccardo Muti and Robert Shaw, and with Eve Queler and the Opera Orchestra of New York. He holds what he believes must be the world record for either stamina or stubborn refusal to accept reality (or both): he has sung the role of Edwin, the Defendant in Gilbert & Sullivan’s Trial by Jury, at irregular intervals over a span of 45 years.
